Please introduce yourself, and tell us a little bit more about you and your blog.Hi! I'm Lauren and I have a little part of the internet called Pretty Things And Polka Dots. I write about beauty, photography and any topics that I am interested in. I am Welsh, fourteen years old and enjoy the simple things in life :)
When did you start your blogging journey and why?I started my blogging journey nearly a year ago now (the 23rd of April is it's one year birthday!) I began blogging because I loved the idea of meeting people from all parts of the world. I also enjoy writing very much and the idea of sharing my views and opinions with people who were interested in similar topics seemed very appealing.
What's the most challenging aspect of blogging for you?I think the most challenging aspect would have to be posting regularly. As much as I love blogging, it can be really hard to prioritise with increasing school work and other hobbies that go on in the week.
Do you have any blogging rituals (like following a strict schedule or making sure to procrastinate by going on Pinterest first, etc.)?Hmm... Not necessarily, but I do like to search through pinterest when I am stuck for ideas. I feel like this can really help spark inspiration, I also do like to have a glass of water or some chocolate to munch on whilst I type away, I am a over of food!
What's your number one blogging tip?I would say don't expect lots of followers at once. I think some people can go into blogging expecting fame and money, and if you don't do it because you enjoy it, then you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
Besides blogging, what other hobbies to you enjoy participating in? Which are you most passionate about?I love music. I play piano and adore classical pieces such as fur elise and clair de lune. I'm also in a band in my school, in which we compose songs and generally just make music. I also love photography, I have recently purchased an SLR Canon 1200D which I now take everywhere with me and snap away! I like the fact that you can save a moment forever and look at it in the future, I'm a person who goes through albums just to reminisce about the past, nostalgia is the best.
(Due to the title of my blog, I feel like I should ask:) Do you feel like you know yourself?I would like to think so, but I think I still have more to discover due to my age. There are so many things I have not experienced, and I reckon that the things that adulthood bring, such as moving out and fending for yourself properly will cause me to discover myself more.
