What are you afraid of?

People scare me. Social situations give me anxiety. Success frightens me. The thought of having everlasting happiness makes me shiver with doubt.

I am afraid of these things. Why? Because they are good. Because they will make things easier. But--if I allow them to, they'll change things. Everything. They'll change me, and my life.

They'll change how I think.

For the longest time, change scared me. I thought I needed to stay the same. I thought I needed to stay afraid. But I can tell you now, as I continue on with my self-discovering journey, that there's nothing to be afraid of. Yes, change is change. Change is new. Change brings experiences. But change is healthy. Change is good.

Spill your fears to me. Tell me, what frightens you?

Comments

  1. Change is scary. But letting go of fears is all about detaching ourselves from the thoughts of the circumstances of our fears. Just the simple yet not so simple word 'detachment' has helped me move on from fear and other anxieties. Things that keep me from doing other things. It may just be my personality, but I am drawn to help others and sometimes I interfere too much. And I want to help people so much that sometimes I lose myself and think only about 'what can I change about myself so that this person will accept me?" But that is not a good thing. And detachment of other people helped me. If someone doesn't accept you, but you still love them... you need to let go. They may not be worth trying to reach. Thats something that I am always anxious about XP

  2. I'm afraid of making a fool of myself in front of people who I know and (sometimes) really like. I'm 'afraid' that if they knew the 'real me', they wouldn't like me at all.
And, I am still afraid of change.

  3. The thing that I'm the most afraid of is failing at life. But you're right, change is good. It happens whether anyone likes it or not.

So this is where I'm at.

Hi friend. How are you? I hope this post meets you well. Today I wanted to write about this little space. My corner of the Internet.

After many attempts to give it a major face lift / rebrand / vibe / mission I figured out that the girl I was in 2012 when I originally started this blog is no longer who I am.

So let's start fresh.
Hi, I'm Rosie. I am a college student and a creator of many crafts. I enjoy writing Young Adult fiction, playing piano, singing at the top of my lungs, and, above all, making other people laugh. Right now I am pursuing a degree in art therapy, which means my future job will be helping people express themselves in a safe environment with someone who loves them. I have tried to be many things on the Internet, from an American Girl doll hoarder to a make-up artist, but nothing has really clicked with me.
Not until now.
I have always been a Christian. My entire life I have identified as being a follower of Jesus Christ. But the thing about growing up in t…

Good-bye.

Have you ever had that one thing you've tried to make work but never could? This could be anything in your personal life, from piano notes to paragraphs in a blog post.

Well, I've been trying and trying and trying and trying for years now to get blogging to work for me. At one point in my life, this was my passion. I lived for your comments, your friendship, and the purity of sharing whatever was in my heart with the world. But I don't feel warmth or connection anymore. In fact, I feel rather lost. Like I'm shouting into an abyss, vying for attention and something to fill my inner void. This feeling comes more often than I care to admit, and I've pushed through all this time with the thought that it will get better. That all I have to do is keep trying and it will work out.

But it hasn't. And I'm out of ideas.

This isn't to say I won't be back. That I won't hit a creative stride in the next week and decide to share something epic with you. But f…
